This evening while Lillian was sleeping Andrew and I did a fun project together. I started out with different bowls & a pan so he could see the reaction of baking soda & vinegar together but then we used a glass bottle. He had so much fun! Then at 7:30 I took him for a long walk to the gas station to get him tired for bed. He should get some good sleep! Haha. Hoping to get moving early in the morning so we can get some stuff done.

Cheeseburger Pie

Ugh, Andrew and I both are feeling blah... But on a good note, trying a new recipe for dinner tonight. It is in the oven now. The Impossible Cheeseburger Pie! I have had it before but have never even thought of making it... it was one of those things I have forgotten! haha. (We'll see how it turns out)
This morning I told Andrew he was my favorite boy and then he responds saying, "Mama, you're my favorite girl!"
Drew is away right now, he went off base to get some groceries and some stuff for his night shifts. He has been having night shift Monday starting at 12 AM til like 6 AM or so. And he sleeps all Sunday (After church) And then Tuesday 12 AM- 6 AM or so and will come home and sleep a few hours then go and do something with us. He cannot sleep long on Tuesday because he has to go to bed like a regular night and go to work the next morning, like a regular workday. I enjoy the night shift because while he is sleeping I usually take the kids out so it is quiet. We usually go and try to find something fun to do.

Crafts

Last night I went to Relief Society Night at church and we did 3 crafts and sweet little notes to put inside the jars for each sister. The theme of the night was DOTS. (Each letter represents a word but I for the life of me cannot remember it...)

The lid on the Mason Jar is a Pin Cushion. The round Purple,Yellow and White thing is a hair bow. The square pink polka dot thing is a covered note pad (sticky notes)

I really enjoyed making the hair bow. That is something I have been wanting to try and do and this one seems so simple.

I took Lillian with me and she slept through the whole thing! So I was able to focus on getting all of the projects done.

The lady that makes the hair bows that Lilly used during her photo-shoot made her this beautiful bow as a thank you gift. She uses Lillian's photos as advertisement for her bows. I took a picture of her wearing it yesterday and was only able to get it on the top of her head instead of the side, but you can see it better.

Here is a picture I took today of Drew holding Lillian when he got home from work.

In both pictures she is looking right at him. This is what she does every time he holds her when he gets home from work.

Sweet Memories

Today at church during Sacrament Andrew looked up at me and said, "Mama, you're my girl and Daddy is my people" haha Oh, this just made my day!
So during Sunday School I went to the Mother's Room to feed Lilly and change her diaper. Well as I am sitting in the chair feeding her I hear this sweet little voice singing "Skip To My Lu" I knew it was Andrew. So I hurried up with her and went out to see what was going on. (thinking the nursery teachers were looking for me to change his diaper) Well I walk into the gym (The Mother's Room is connected to the gym) And I see Drew and asked what Andrew was out of Nursery for. He said the teacher brought Andrew to him because he needed to use the rest room. (Andrew told the teacher he needed to pee when he was in nursery) And then I asked, "So, what did you do with him?" then Drew said, "I took him in the bathroom and held his hands so he wouldn't fall in the toilet and he peed." Oh, you have no idea how happy this makes me! This is his first time using the bathroom away from home and not only that, he let someone know he had to go even when he had a diaper on!! Drew said that Andrew looked at the urinals on the wall funny and said, "Dad, what's that?" haha
Today Lillian was good during church, I had to take her to the Mother's Room twice to feed her. But once we got home... she started crying. And she has been crying off and on all evening. Right now she is on my lap asleep. During Relief Society during the last hour of church you could tell she was tired. So I laid her on my lap and gently bounced my leg and she fell right to sleep laying across my lap.
Andrew loves to sing! It is so sweet to hear him sing to his sister when she is crying.
I recorded some different TV shows for his age for him to watch every once in a while. Today he watched one called "Little Bill" (It is a cartoon that Bill Cosby made) And he looks at me and says, "Mama Little Bill is my favorite!"
So during Lillian's New Born Photo Shoot there were these beautiful hair bands that she got to use. The lady that makes them asked if it'd be alright if she could use some of the pictures of Lillian as advertisement for her bows and I said that she could. Well in return she said she will make Lillian her own hair bow for free. She asked me which one I'd like and I told her that we loved the beautiful purple one from the photo shoot. Well she said that is one of her hot items and she currently does not have any. So she asked what colors I would like in it and she would just make a new design. I told her pink and purple. (I honestly had no idea what colors to pick) And she texted me a picture of it last night and it is beautiful! She posted the picture on her business page on FaceBook today and already people are asking for it! So we are the first to get this bow... well because she made it for us which is pretty cool.

Out Door Movie Night!

This is the Skandinavian Park here in Minot, ND. This is the 2nd movie night this summer, that I know of. This was our first time attending. A free movie and they were handing out free popcorn too. It really was a lot of fun! We ended up staying for like only half of the movie though. Drew was so tired and could barely stay awake and it was getting a little cold for Lilly. We always pass it in town but I have never gone to "look" at it. All I know is, I want us to have family pictures taken there!

We were able to get a picnic table to call our own! Andrew LOVED being there! Him and Drew even went over to the steep hill and rolled down it.

Crock Pot Cooking

Before church: "Oh wait! I almost forgot to put the Chicken in the Crock Pot" (Made sure it was on low)
After church: "Man! I guess I forgot to plug it in" (So I plug it in)
30 min later: "Why is the blender light on?" (plugged in the wrong thing!)
But we will be having BBQ Chicken for dinner!!

At church today I guess Drew was taking too long talking to someone after Sacrament because Andrew got up and went to nursery all by himself! Drew went straight to nursery when he was done talking to make sure that that was where he went. Lillian slept the whole way through church, well except the last 10 minutes. But the lessons given were just what I needed to hear so maybe her sleeping through church was a blessing much bigger than what I thought because I was able to pay more attention.

Well, I have noticed that I never did post the pictures from Lillian's New Born Photo Shoot (she was 2 weeks old) So I will probably post them next. Speaking of which... So the pretty little bows used during the photo shoot a lady on base, I think, makes them. And I found out there is an "OTHERS" folder for the FaceBook mail so I checked it. I saw that I had an email from the lady that makes the bows that Lillian had on that day. She wanted to give use a free bow to thank us for letting her use some of the pictures from the photo-shoot for advertisement. I was like 6 weeks late on replying to her but she is still going to make a bow for her! I looked through her picture and found some that I will probably like to purchase for Halloween.

Summer Carnival

So making cookies today with Andrew was a success! I made the dough last night before going to bed (Because it had to refrigerate at least 2 hrs before using.) This is my first time making cookies in forever! I usually just don't even bother because growing up I'd always make cookies but would ALWAYS misread the direction and always either put too much salt or baking soda in.. (usually baking soda though) But these turned out good and we only used like 1/2 of the dough. I used a 1/2 TBS measuring spoon to scoop them out. Perfect little cookies.
We went to a little party cookout thing that the base was having this evening. It was a
"Summer Carnival" It rained on us but Andrew had a good time and that's all that counts. He got to go on a bouncy castle slide thing. (He LOVED that) then they had hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, snow cones and pop corn. They also had a few little carnival games set up where they could win some cute little prizes.
So Drew drops Lillian and me off at home so him and Andrew could go to the library then go and get some gas in the car. Well they come home like 30 min or so later and Drew gives me money to get gas in the car because they were unable to since Andrew had stinky pants.. Well Andrew brings his potty to me (it was down in the den) and he keeps saying, "I pooped! I pooped!" I was confused because Drew just changed his diaper.. Well sure enough he had pooped in the potty, but his diaper was still on and clean... So he must have done it earlier in the day and just not told me about it. So today is his first official day of pooping in the potty!! WooHoo!! (Now have to work on him using the rest rooms in public places) So since Lillian was asleep in her swing I told Drew to keep an eye on her so I could go get gas in the car and that I'd take Andrew also. (I was taking him so he could get a treat for using the potty) Well to make a long story short... We head home, pull into the garage, and before I can get my seat belt off Drew opens the door holding Lillian. It never fails, every time I leave (and she is peacefully sleeping) she wakes up not even 10 minutes later.
I did not have time to get on here last night and type about Lillian, but she had her first cry-free bath! (Well she cried during the drying off and putting clothes on part) But it was so nice to not have to hurry hurry bathe, dry, and get dress to hush the crying baby. She even would smile and do her silent laugh when I'd pour water on her belly. (So Sweet!) I sure am going to miss her being so small!

Busy Day Out

I went out with the kids alone today (I have done it before but it is just a lot of work.. haha) But we did McDonald's so Andrew could play then we went to WalMart. (To get some stuff for Drew to take to night shift.) Then I did it... I took them in to Dollar Tree.. Hahaha. I had not been in there in forever! But got some "school supplies" to work with Andrew on his letters. He knows the sounds they all make but this year going to try and teach him the sounds they make together (like SH, CH, OO, TR)

Mostly why we tried to stay out of the house for a while so Drew could get some good sleep since he did night shift last night and has it again tonight. We got home at about 4:30 and not long after Drew came down and said he didn't fall asleep til at least 3.. (We had been gone since 11.. Poor Guy)
